ABOUT

Many reviews. One score.

GameReviewRank exists to answer one question honestly: how good is this game, according to everyone who reviewed it?

What we do

Two things. We blend review scores from Metacritic, OpenCritic, Steam, IMDb and the GameRankings archive into a single weighted score for any game. And each year we compile the major critics’ year-end lists into one consensus ranking, awarding points by position — so a game ranked #1 everywhere scores higher than a game ranked #1 once and nowhere else.

Why the rankings can be trusted

Every best-of page names the exact lists it was compiled from and how many there were. We exclude ineligible entries consistently — expansions, remasters, ports and re-releases of older games — and we apply the same rule to every list, so one outlet’s idiosyncratic pick can’t quietly distort a year. Where a source can’t be verified, we leave it out rather than approximate it. The full method is on the methodology page.

Independence

Some retailer links are affiliate links and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This never affects a score or a ranking — the rankings are computed from published lists and review scores, and no publisher, developer or outlet can pay for placement.

Who runs it

GameReviewRank is operated by Silver Directive LLC. Corrections and questions are genuinely welcome — if a list is missing, mis-ranked, or a game has been wrongly excluded, tell us at contact@gamereviewrank.com.
